The Region in Brief

BNP Paribas has been operating in the Gulf for over 30 years through a network of 5 commercial branches (Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia ).

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are further assisting in serving the needs of corporate and individual clients on their respective markets today. Our Regional Hub in Bahrain has in addition to its commercial branches an Offshore Banking Unit providing treasury, structured finance, corporate and investment banking services in the Middle East. Also based in Bahrain is a representative office ensuring an extensive coverage of the regional financial institutions and providing access to our Group's expertise in fields such as asset management, structured investment products and Islamic Banking.

This set-up enables the bank to offer our clientele a large range of products and services directly through teams of professionals and experts located in the various sites close to the clients and to provide adequate solutions to their requirements.

This strategy of proximity to our local market has enabled the bank to achieve on-going success for which we occupy the top position among leading banks in fields such as project finance, local capital markets, Islamic products and trade finance.

In order to continue improving the quality of our service and the adequacy of our products, we have adopted a regional development strategy and invested in strong regional logistics, IT and risks platform in Bahrain to be able to provide all entities in the region with a timely and high quality support for their clients and counterparts.

We have strong ambitions to continue developing new ideas for our clients in the GCC in the future.
